ABOUT
Me
Hi I’m Zain – a visual
storyteller and the man behind Infinite Piece.
I’ll paint the picture below.
2013
I start uni.
I started civil engineering at the University of Strathclyde, making my parents proud.
2014
Football boots reseller
I got into football late at around 16 and got really into it. I wanted all the new and shiny boots but without £180 to fork out on a pair of new boots. Instead, I’d buy used off eBay and if I liked them? I’d keep ’em. If I didn’t, I’d sell them on and sometimes I’d make a fiver of profit now and then. I didn’t know it at the time but I was learning using photography (cover photo) and copywriting (titles & descriptions) for the purpose of marketing.
2018
I fail uni
I then disappoint my parents. A South Asian desi kid not getting top marks? And worse yet, not even getting a pass?? I was spending all my time chilling, gaming, watching TV shows and wasn’t bothered about the course, I knew in my heart I didn’t want to do it but my head thought I’d stick through it.

Fitness journey kicks off
With the help of a close friend, I get into the gym properly after countless attempts prior. I start to record my sets mainly to assess form and some occasional videos make it onto my personal Instagram page. This is my first foray into anything video related.

Nightvision.jpeg begins
I buy myself a new phone, a Huawei P30 Pro, with an outrageous night node camera. I start taken random photos and I’m thoroughly impressed with how each of them are coming out the box with so much detail and colour. I start experimenting with editing and find my style of toning down all colours except just 1 or 2 and start an Instagram page to share my newfound hobby of night photography.
(The bridge above, the Clyde Tidal Weir, is my favourite of the 20+ bridges that go over the River Clyde).

Football Recordings
I have the idea of setting up a tripod in the corner of the net to record our 5 a side games to watch back, critique and have a laugh. No fancy edits, just trimming starts and ends and throwing them on YouTube as unlisted videos which is basically free cloud storage.

Car shoots.
I start to begin testing wearing a GoPro on a chest and head mount in our games this steps up the football recordings.
Aug 2021
Working with Harley-Davidson.
Was greatly honoured to be the photographer for the launch Harley-Davidson Sportster S 2021 model which debuted in Manchester – the first time a launch of a new model was happening outside the USA.

Video work
Clients who I’m doing photos for are demanding video so I push myself and offer a bodybuilder, Gerard, who goes to my gym a free video. His training partner on the day of the shoot happens to be Stuart, the owner of Spartan Protein, and from there I get my first brand as a client.

Rebranded to Infinite Piece
Running with the name nightvision.jpeg, while cool for sharing night photos, wasn’t a name I could run with when pushing client work more. One of the early taglines I’d come up with nightvision was “unravelling the infinite piece jigsaw puzzle” and saw those 2 words as a perfect fit for the overall brand name and I ran with it.

First (proper) YouTube video
I was sitting on the idea of doing a YouTube for a while and I finally got round to sitting down to do one. In this video I speak about the local creative scene in Glasgow and Scotland, how it compares to down in England, along with sharing my experience having attended my first Muslim Creatives event down in London.

Relaunch of Infinite Piece
By this point a frustration has been building within me for weeks going on months – I’ve been so busy trying to run a content creation agency to serve clients and having to deal with freelancing, getting clients, delivery of work, training editors, running an overseas team that I realise I don’t have the time to put into the Infinite Piece personal brand. I have all these shiny nightvision photos sitting on an old hard drive which I’d crafted years ago that weren’t serving me and I decide this is it – I go all in on building Infinite Piece.
